The Edmonds Independents offer year-round opportunities for athletes of all ability levels to train, compete, and have fun through Special Olympics Washington. Our teams participate in the following sports throughout the year:
🌸 Spring Season (March–June)
Athletics (Track & Field) - Athletics gives athletes of all ability levels the opportunity to train and compete in running, jumping, throwing, and relay events. The program promotes fitness, confidence, inclusion, and the joy of participation.
Soccer - Soccer brings athletes of all ability levels together to build skills, make friends, and enjoy the excitement of team competition. Through practices and games, athletes develop confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and inclusive environment.
☀️ Summer Season (June–August)
Bocce - Bocce is a fun and accessible sport that welcomes athletes of all ability levels. Players develop accuracy, strategy, and teamwork while enjoying friendly competition in an inclusive setting.
Softball - Softball gives athletes the opportunity to develop baseball skills, work together as a team, and compete in an encouraging environment. The sport builds confidence, communication, and sportsmanship while emphasizing fun and participation.
🍂 Fall Season (August–November)
Bowling - Bowling is a sport for everyone, offering athletes of all ability levels the chance to improve their skills, set personal goals, and enjoy friendly competition. It encourages focus, confidence, and camaraderie.
Flag Football - Flag football combines speed, strategy, and teamwork in a fast-paced, non-contact game. Athletes build skills, confidence, and lasting friendships while competing in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Basketball - Basketball gives athletes the opportunity to develop individual skills while working together as a team. Through practices and games, athletes build confidence, fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a welcoming environment.
